The latest patch for Aloft has landed, and version 0.3.5.16 is all about smoothing out the skies and fixing the world beneath your feet. While the update doesn’t introduce new islands or creatures, it delivers a much-needed polish pass that makes gliding feel more responsive and the game world less buggy.

Gliding Gets a Glow-Up

The biggest changes in this patch focus on the core flight experience. The Glider Stand menu has been reworked for consistency, and all glider Patterns & Shapes now have proper names and tooltips. Dyes also show their cost even if you haven’t discovered them yet, which is a huge quality-of-life improvement for crafters. The devs also adjusted the Emergency Landing / Gliding Exhaustion bar accuracy, meaning you’ll have a better sense of when you’re about to plummet.

“The colour submenu now has placeholder empty slots to fill the last row.”

This attention to UI detail extends to the Opal Oculus and Wool & Linen Gliders, which now have improved descriptions. The audio for the reward platform on Glider Trial islands has also been tuned, and the sound while gliding is now clearer and less intrusive.

Bug Fixes That Matter

Beyond the glider improvements, this patch squashes several persistent bugs. The Leviathan music no longer cuts in or out when the beast enters or leaves a cluster—a fix that was apparently reapplied. Players can no longer clip into the Life Tree basin before healing it, and the orientation of some Meditation Circles has been corrected.

  • Fixed an issue where Spiral Adobe Stairs moved their center position (applies to all existing worlds)
  • Fixed Pyrologics not working for clients when the host is far away
  • Fixed Crashed Gliders appearing under the ground on certain islands (newly discovered only)
  • Fixed several cases of floating assets and broken puzzles, including the Glider Trial island in the Red Cliffs biome

What This Means for Players

For the average Aloft player, this patch makes the game feel more polished and less frustrating. The UI improvements for gliders mean less time squinting at menus and more time soaring. The bug fixes, especially for the Life Tree and Pyrologics, ensure that progression isn’t blocked by invisible walls or broken mechanics.

This is a solid maintenance patch that shows the developers are listening. With the flight system now more stable and the world less riddled with floating assets, Aloft feels ready for whatever the next major update brings.
