After a quiet stretch spent tearing down and rebuilding its foundation, Blight: Survival is back with a fresh slice of gameplay. The developer, Haenir, took the time to “rebuild our core systems from the ground up,” and on March 21, 2026, they showed what that looks like.

It’s a third-person hack ‘n’ slash set in grim medieval times, where you wade through zombies with brutal melee combat. The game has been sitting on over 1.5 million wishlists on Steam, making it one of the most anticipated unreleased games on the platform. Only a handful of titles — Subnautica 2, Deadlock, Light no Fire, and Forza Horizon 6 — have more wishlists. That puts Blight: Survival in some serious company.

The rebuild wasn’t just a polish pass. Haenir went deep, reworking how the game feels and plays from the ground up. They haven’t dropped a release date yet, but this footage is the first real look at what the overhauled version can do. For a game with that much pre-launch hype, showing actual progress matters.

The new footage doesn’t promise a launch window. It just shows a game that’s still alive and being built with care.
