In a surprise move, the MMO Dune: Awakening is adding a single-player mode. This lets you explore the desert planet without bumping into other players.
The devs didn’t share a release date yet. But they confirmed the mode is for people who “don’t want to deal with other people while exploring the desert.” That’s the quote from the announcement on June 4, 2026.
What the single-player mode includes
You’ll get the full Arrakis map to explore alone. That means no guild drama, no PvP ambushes, no waiting for respawn spots. Just you, the sandworms, and the spice.
The mode also comes with more story content. So solo players won’t miss out on the narrative. You’ll still experience the political intrigue and survival challenges, just without the MMO crowd.

This is a big shift for a game originally pitched as an MMO. Many survival MMOs stick to their multiplayer guns. Offering a solo option acknowledges that not everyone wants to share their desert experience.
