Funcom dropped a big one in their latest Communinet Signal just after the game’s first anniversary. While the exact release anniversary is still a couple days away, the team celebrated early by announcing Dune: Awakening will land on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 22. That same date brings a single-player mode to all platforms, including PC.
You won’t find breaking news in these Communinet Signals — they’re more like a scrapbook of community builds, fanart, and developer concept art. But this one made an exception. The team confirmed the console and single-player news during Sony’s State of Play stream earlier this week. A blog post breaks down everything coming in the September update and highlights what’s shipped since the PC launch. Console players will get all that content day one.
Community Challenge Wrapped
The latest community challenge is done and dusted. Players smashed milestone targets, earning the Vivisectionist Bone Saw and Asteroid Harvester Maula Pistol variants. Just log in before July 2 00:00 UTC and those rewards hit your account.
Here’s the breakdown for dungeon completions:
- Global: 101,330
- North America: 43,191
- Asia: 4,707
And mission completions:
- Global: 113,842
- Europe: 52,316
- Oceania: 5,666
Most popular Landsraad mission? The Price of Water, with 35,306 completions.
Developer Deep Dive: Mentat Fashion
The last Signal featured Planetologist concept art. This time they’re showing off the Mentats. The team wanted the design to hint at mathematical training and a monastic, high-status feel. The outfit feels austere, disciplined. Early sketches came from Gabriel Blain, with final production work by Jenni Lambertsson.
The September 22 launch date is the concrete target, and the community challenge stats prove players are still grinding across every region.
