Funcom announced their first Closed Beta Playtest for Dune: Awakening on PlayStation, running from June 25 to June 29, 2026. The studio says bringing the game to console is a “massive priority,” and this test marks the next big step.
The beta focuses on how the game feels on console. They’ve made improvements to the control scheme, combat, and progression specifically for this test.
Who Can Join
This is a tight, focused test. Here’s what you need to know:
- Platform: PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Pro only
- Region: North America only
- Players: New players and those who’ve played on PC are both welcome
- Mode: Multiplayer only — single-player and customization come in a future test
It’s also under NDA. No streaming, screenshots, or discussion outside private testing channels.
How Registration Works
You register your interest through the official link. Funcom will send emails with NDAs and keys sometime the week before the beta starts.
“We will only be inviting a very limited number of users from the registration list to join us for the weekend.”
If you don’t get in this time, the studio says there’s a “strong possibility” for more tests before launch. They’ll run a survey after the playtest to collect detailed feedback.
