RuneScape: Dragonwilds is officially leaving Early Access and landing on consoles this September. The full 1.0 launch hits PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 15th, 2026 — and yes, they’re bringing crossplay with it. This marks the first time Dragonwilds launches simultaneously across PC and consoles.
The full release bundles the Scorned Wilderness update with everything from Early Access so far, including the upcoming Umbral Sands expansion arriving later this Summer. If you’re not already playing, you can still grab it on Steam and join the final stretch of Early Access.
What’s in Dragonwilds?
It’s a survival RPG set in the RuneScape universe. You grind 13 unique skills to level 99, explore a hand-crafted world, and fight everything from Black Knights to Chromatic Dragons. The magic system lets you do weird stuff like summon a spectral axe for chopping trees, blink away from danger, or conjure a tornado of fish. You can even turn bones into peaches.
Building is a big deal too — hundreds of unique pieces let you fortify against dragons and make a home that’s actually yours.
The Early Access Journey So Far
When Early Access kicked off in April 2025, you had one dragon to kill and a whole continent to explore. Since then, things got bigger:
- December 2025 — The Fellhollow update added a haunting realm serving Death himself, a corrupted dragon named Imaru, magical farming, and rideable Terrorbirds.
- March 2026 — Dowdun Reach dropped a Zamorakian fortress packed with Black Knights and Blue Dragons, introduced Mithril-tier gear, added Fishing, pushed skill caps to 99, overhauled Runecrafting, and brought dedicated server support.
The Kuldra’s Saga roadmap sets the stage for Umbral Sands, the Scorned Wilderness, and a final showdown with the Dragon Queen.
The Scorned Wilderness update is the last major piece before launch, and it’s coming alongside everything that’s been built so far.
