The RuneScape: Dragonwilds team dropped a “Vital Information” doc on June 23, 2026 for players jumping into the Umbral Sands update. It’s a list of known issues they’re tracking, with a promise to keep it updated as fixes roll out. If you spot something, they want you to hit the Discord Bug Reports channel — but read the formatting guide first.

Top Issues Under Investigation

Achievements are the big one. They’re not triggering on new or existing characters right now. The devs say both types should work going forward, but there’s a catch: achievements won’t unlock retroactively. So if you already did the thing, you’ll need to do it again.

Other notable bugs:

  • Two greyed-out flying carpet mounts that can’t be unlocked
  • Cutting down a tree in one swing won’t give you the “Chop Chop” achievement
  • Unlocking a mount skin before getting the Terrorbird from The Wild Hunt quest leaves a broken “mount” prompt on your HUD
  • A 3-5 second delay where you can be attacked on first login
  • Four Terrorbird mount drops all unlock the same variant — they’re investigating
  • The Vestige Staff from Umbral Sands shows rune count when equipped
  • No video for the ‘Trunk Totem’ spell in the spell book

UI and Quest Quirks

The interface has some weirdness. Controllers can’t hold to scroll on the skills page — you have to tap manually. The Fuzan Shield shows the wrong icon in places, and the Fire Cape vestige reward drop also displays an incorrect icon. Switch control methods mid-dialogue? Your input glyphs vanish.

For quests, the ‘Contact!’ map marker has wrong location and size. The Avisk model textures glitch on that same quest. On Medium graphics or lower, the Chamber barrier for ‘Contact!’ is invisible. The sand VFX trail for ‘Beast in the Sand’ doesn’t show for clients. And Lagra, Alcarrid’s Butcher won’t take quest items if your inventory’s full.

Dedicated Server Problems

These only happen on dedicated servers. Some interfaces show wrong values on the right-hand side. Moving item stacks while trading in the Merchant’s Shop might display an incorrect currency value — though you’re getting the right amount. The quest rewards for “Contact!” and “Mapping the Sands” incorrectly show you receiving 2 of the named reward when you actually get 1.
