SLUG: solarpunk-launch-date-june-8-2026

SUMMARY: Solarpunk 1.0 arrives June 8 on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch 2 after four years of development.

After four years of work, Solarpunk finally has a release date. It launches on June 8. The announcement came during the Triple I Showcase on YouTube.

For most of that development time, the game was built by just two people. They described the process as “step by step, with a lot of passion, persistence, and probably more coffee than we should admit.” The release was delayed more than once along the way. That’s not unusual for a small team, but they say getting to this point makes the moment even more meaningful.

Solarpunk 1.0 hits PC via Steam, GOG, and Epic on day one. It also launches on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch 2. Console porting is handled by Mi’pu’mi Games, a studio that worked on HITMAN and Indiana Jones. The team said they’re proud to have a studio with that level of experience bringing the game to more players.

The developers wrote that after working on Solarpunk for so long, they feel “proud, relieved, excited, and above all just happy that you will finally be able to play the game very soon.” June 8 is the date they settled on.
