The Solarpunk team dropped a mid-update on June 23, 2026, and it’s less about big new content and more about what’s coming next. They’ve been reading your posts, reviews, bug reports, and feature requests, and they’re acting on them.
Cross-Platform Multiplayer
The big news is Cross-Platform Multiplayer. Right now, the multiplayer system is tied to individual platforms, but the team wants to change that. Their goal: let you play together across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch 2.
There’s a catch. While they work on this, they need to freeze update intervals a bit. They’re not planning a larger update for roughly the next three weeks. The devs are upfront about it:
“Please do not take this as a fixed promise or exact date — with crossplay, something can always come up.”
They’ll still push fixes and improvements in parallel, just don’t expect a big drop soon.
Shaping the Roadmap Together
Instead of building a roadmap in secret, the team launched a Feature Voting System. You can submit your own ideas and vote on existing ones at their featureupvote page. The community wants a lot: more decoration, building pieces, quality-of-life features, animals, plants, automation, and multiplayer stuff. This system helps them figure out what actually matters.
The Small Fixes
Alongside the big announcements, there’s a small update with actual changes:
- Fixed animal type always showing as chicken for clients
- Possible fix for character editor settings not replicating correctly
- Fixed gamepad navigation in the player inventory getting stuck in the hotbar after a backpack upgrade and opening a chest
- Adjusted the research description for Airship Dock V2
- Moved the “Unstuck” buttons from settings into the in-game menu
- Moved the Socials button in the in-game menu further to the left
The devs thanked everyone who plays, gives feedback, and reports bugs. They also noted that a review still helps them enormously.
