The latest Solarpunk update went live on July 3, 2026, and it’s a big one for anyone who’s been wrestling with corrupted save files. The devs at Chop Chop Inc. are calling this a “really nasty bug,” and they’ve finally shipped a fix for it.
Savegame Fix and Crossplay
The main event here is the savegame fix. Some players were losing progress or couldn’t load their files at all. The team’s statement is blunt about it:
“To everyone who lost hours of progress because of this: we are truly sorry. This was a really nasty bug and a real beast, but we have hopefully managed to tame it now.”
They also addressed criticism about the crossplay announcement. Some players wanted more fixes first, not new features. The devs made it clear: crossplay is happening in parallel with everything else. They’re not stopping work on the game. The new multiplayer system isn’t just for crossplay — it’s also meant to fix existing issues where Steam players can’t reliably connect to each other. Updates will just be bundled more tightly during the switch.
Feature Voting and Roadmap
The team is pushing their Feature Voting board as a way to shape what comes next. You can submit requests and vote on ideas at their site. Some of the top-voted items were already on their to-do list, so upcoming updates will include some of those requests. They’re not saying exactly what yet.
It’s a straightforward update that fixes a critical bug and shows where the game’s headed. The savegame fix alone makes this one worth grabbing.
