The StarRupture team pushed out Hotfix 0.2.1 on April 16, 2026. It targets a bunch of problems that showed up after Update 1, especially around co-op play and building systems.

Crashes and Performance

They fixed two stability issues. The game no longer crashes when you deconstruct buildings or Rail junctions. Co-op players also get better stability when the Fire Wave hits.

Multiplayer Fixes

Co-op sync got a lot of attention. Client players can now see all available recipes in storage buildings. Riding the Zipline with other players won’t desync anymore. The Forgotten Engine lights show up for everyone now, and rejoining players actually get the completion notification. The team also fixed the death screen not appearing in some co-op situations.

Dedicated Servers

Servers are more stable during base attacks and for joining players. Research on some buildings now updates properly in the Development Station. The game also pauses correctly when the last player leaves.

Building & Environment

A long list of building bugs got squashed. Recipes in the Recipe Station won’t unlock prematurely from a single requirement anymore. The Duplicate Blueprint item now correctly overwrites existing blueprints. You can open your inventory while using the Building Drone, and the Building Menu won’t pop up unexpectedly after copying structures.

The hotfix also prevents deconstructing one Habitat in a vertical stack from nuking everything connected. Same for interior buildings and stacked habitats — they won’t float in mid-air anymore. The Cargo Dispatcher now handles its status correctly after reloading a save.
