The folks behind StarRupture rolled out Hotfix 0.2.5 on May 18, 2026. It’s a bigger one than usual — nine crash fixes, some building tweaks, and a couple of quality-of-life changes players have been asking for.

Crashes & Performance

The patch notes list a ton of crash fixes. Many of them cluster around the Fire Wave sequence — the game was crashing during the run, at the start, and after improper item spawning following the wave. They also squashed bugs tied to Drone Roundabouts, Drone Rail movement, and building system hiccups. A few more targeted crashes from taking foundable items and loading certain save files.

Quality of Life

Two small but welcome additions:

  • An autosave interval option — now you can pick how often the game saves itself.
  • Platform stability cost got reduced, which should let you build bigger constructions without hitting the ceiling.

Building & Co-op Fixes

Multiplayer gets some love here. In a co-op session, placing a Zipline Pole ghost won’t visually disconnect from the Zipline for the client anymore. They also reworked the Platform power system so it actually conducts power properly. Other building fixes:

  • Coralion eggs now disappear when buildings cover them.
  • Habitats got a stability system improvement.
  • Deconstructing a lower Habitat from a stack will properly wipe out all the higher ones.

Enemies, Environment & UI

Goliaths spawn more frequently in some regions now, and Skylisks have better collision. On the environment side, they bumped the interaction range for some foundable items and fixed corrosion gas VFX on Dedicated Servers showing up when it shouldn’t. Purplant glow VFX won’t linger after a Fire Wave, and burnt Bloodferns won’t drain players before they regrow.

The Large Habitat icon also shows up on the map now, alongside various UI polish.

No word on what’s next, but the team says they’re “actively working on fixing existing issues along with introducing new content.”
