On June 2, 2026, the StarRupture team dropped Hotfix 0.2.6 to squash a stack of stability and multiplayer bugs. It’s a targeted patch aimed at making the early access build less crashy and more playable with friends.

Crash Fixes and Performance

The biggest fixes target game-breaking crashes. They patched a crash on save files that happened when you approached bigger bases. Dedicated servers also got a fix for a crash that would hit during loading game sessions in certain scenarios. There’s also a fix for a crash tied to save file size.

Fixed a crash that occurred on some save files upon approaching bigger bases.

Multiplayer and Co-op

Co-op players were turning into T-pose animations when their grenade throw got interrupted by equipping the Harvester. That’s fixed. So is the missing Fire Wave VFX for co-op players joining mid-wave. They also sorted out a bunch of audio bugs:

  • Every player could hear each co-op player’s dialogues
  • Clients couldn’t hear dialogues in co-op sessions
  • Multiplayer settings got unresponsive when changing session visibility
  • Lobby slots now correctly show player status on hover

Building and Other Fixes

Building got some love too. The Pillar Support could previously be placed even when unstable — that’s no longer the case. They also fixed Habitats on saves created before version 0.2.5 showing the wrong stability status. Deconstructing a merged Viewport in co-op won’t make the Habitat vanish anymore.

Other small tweaks include a fix for looping SFX on the Character Selection Screen and a new outdated GPU driver warning on launch. The team says they’re closely reviewing feedback and working on both fixes and new content for Early Access.
