Stars Reach, the upcoming sandbox MMO from Playable Worlds, is set to launch into Early Access this summer, according to a June 3, 2026 announcement on Steam.
Early Access and Media Hands-On
The game’s Early Access window was confirmed in a community update, with more details promised in the coming weeks. To build momentum, creative director Raph Koster will be in Los Angeles this weekend to meet with journalists and creators, offering the media its first hands-on opportunity with the game. Coverage is expected to roll out throughout next week, with some pieces possibly appearing over the weekend.
Playtest Invites Reopening
Playtest invites for Stars Reach will reopen in the next couple of weeks, allowing new players—referred to as Wayfarers—to join the galaxy. Interested players can sign up via the provided link.
Server Uptime Increase
The development team is also keeping the game’s servers running almost full-time for the next few weeks. Brief maintenance periods will occur, with notifications sent through the Stars Reach Discord and in-game alerts.
For players, this means a clearer timeline for when they can expect to explore the game’s sandbox universe, with both Early Access and expanded playtesting on the horizon.
